The Aeolae are a tribe bound by tradition, honor, and utmost secrecy. Since the beginning of recorded history the Aeolae have inhabited caverns in the highest mountains in the land. Although they also mark areas of the plains and forest as their territory, the dens of the Aeolae are predominantly in the highest altitudes.

The Aeolae are known foremost by their actions in safeguarding the territory of the Verdimm from outside attackers and being true and steadfast in their adherance to the precepts of Luna. The Aeolae seem to view themselves as the fist of Luna although the reactions of the other tribes to this idea varies considerably. What is known, however, is that their strength in battle is fierce and their sense of honor profound. Agreements with the Aeolae, while few in number because of their own interior agenda, are strictly observed.

In physical appearance the Aeolae are strikingly beautiful with graceful wings that comprise their upper limbs and powerful hindquarters ending in a tri-claw formation with a hind toe for grasping prey. The bodies of each wyvern are covered in almost metallic scales that vary in color. It is not known whether a limit exists on the colors available to the species although each is treated as a member of the tribe with no distinctions in color being used in a discriminatory manner. Other characteristics of the Aeolae true form include the head and back ridges that begin along the skull cap of the wyvern and continue down that back and onto the tail. This, of course, is the Aeolae's Khiulnter form. However, while the Aeolae are most comfortable in their true Khiulnter form they are not adverse to their other forms if the situation demands it. The Aeolae Dimo-Khu form varies between members of the tribe and their individual visualizations, however, no Aeolae is able to fly in the Dimo-Khu form.

The social structure of the Aeolae is highly dispersed due to the wanderlust that seems to overtake the tribe periodically. Whether this is because of personality traits of individual members or some design of the tribe is not known. However, it is known that the tribe does have periodic meetings and those meetings are led by a mysterious "Council".
