When building rooms in Crinos, the following guidelines should be used. Please try to make your rooms useful, and interesting. Make sure to read 'news building' if you haven't already. Keep in mind the nature of Crinos: harsh, unforgiving, sometimes violent. Please reflect this in your descriptions, and ambience, if you add any.

Crinos has two styles of building rooms: Outdoor and Indoor. These separate styles have slightly different ways of setting them up. Read on for information on how to set each of these up.

There are two major differences between indoor rooms and outdoor rooms in Crinos. Outdoor rooms will have weather, season, and time-of-day descriptions in the description of the room. Since indoor rooms are assumed to be sheltered and enclosed, they might not have these options.

Type the following to build your own Crinos room:

@dig/tel [room name]
@parent here=#665

Those commands are important. The first one tells the MUSH to make a room for you; the second command designates the room as a 'Crinos' room (so you can get +lhelp and all that).

Crinos has a built-in system of changing desc's to reflect Day/Night, Seasons, and Weather. If you don't want to use this, just set your room's description the normal way:

@desc here=[text]

To utilize the built-in system, DO NOT set the @desc on your rooms. Instead, set the following attributes on your rooms:

Example of how to set these attributes:

&d-rainy here=It's raining cats and dogs

The only required desc is D-BASIC. The others are optional (and have defaults), but do add quite a bit to the room's description. VIEW, PLACES, ambience, and +detail are all encouraged to give further detail.

If you wish, you can also edit the @desc of the room to gain parts of the Crinos outdoor code. If you wanted only a time-of-day desc, without weather or seasons, for example, you could have that.

Feel free to add lots of VIEW, PLACES, ambience, and +detail (see the +help on the MUSH for each topic).

Other than these very small guidelines ;) feel free to do what you will. Enjoy!
