The Ekli'in are a tribe of scholarly mystics, their lot in life being the gathering of knowledge, be it mundane or magical. This often brings them much closer to the spirit world than many other tribes. Also, they are one of the few Verdimm that keep an actual written history of many of the events that have occurred in their tribe, as well as all over Crinos. They are a peaceful tribe, that respects life above all things, so they rarely opt to slay any living being. Though if a creature is to wreak death upon many, they feel that the creature should be slain to prevent further bloodshed. This is also reflected in their diets, they being strictly herbivores/vegetarians. They are also a nomadic tribe, having no set home, for they love travel and seeing new places. However, they do have a holy ground somewhere in the mountains, and many of the tribe gather there to exchange stories and histories. It is said that this holy place holds all of the written knowledge ever gathered by the tribe.
One thing must be said about the Ekli'in, that being that they can and will fight if it comes to that. They are Crinosians. There are even said to be those in the tribe that are warrior/priests that follow Luna zealously, and are supposedly defenders of their holy ground. The Ea'na (warrior/priests) are powerful in the ways of Sha'Crin, as well as being able to fight, and gather knowledge, as well as teach others of Luna's ways (their own version of Luna's laws, of course).
Forms: The forms among the Ekli'in are very meaningful, each having a specific purpose, though of course they are used at the Ekli'in's discretion.
Dimoh: The Ekli'in are of average height and build, having very fair skin, light colored hair, and most have blue or green eyes. The average height of an Ekli'in in dimoh is 5' 10" and weight is between 130-150 pounds. Most of the tribe are clean and have hair that is long and well-kept, though they do dress in furs and leather of various earthy colors.
Khiulnter: This form is that of an Elk, though they are slightly smaller than a normal elk, being only about 4'6" on average at the shoulder. They have brown coarse fur, and most have large racks of antlers (even the females).
Dimo-Khu: In this form, they have the muscular torso and legs of a human, covered in coarse fur. They have a short tail, and hooves where feet may be, the nails of their fingers are thick and blunt. At the neck, tendonds and veins distort part of the chest and well up to the chin of the demonic head. The head appears as that of a twisted, demonic elk. They can reach heights of 15' or more.
Applications of forms: The dimoh form is used for social purposes, especially when dealing with other Verdimm. Also, the Dimoh form is used in their mating practices and in tribal gatherings. The khiulnter form is used for feeding and travelling mainly, though it is sometimes used in ritual combat or even life threatening situations. The dimo-khu is used only for combat, times when the Ekli'in are forced to fight. An Ekli'in is reluctant to take on this form in any case, but when she does, it is to bring death to a foe, never mere injury.
