The Kei know that they alone are Luna's chosen people. They live, after all, at the very peaks of the highest mountains, flying closer to her than any other Verdimm.

The Kei venerate honor above all else, the highest honors being becoming a mother of children, and dying to protect Kei, especially Kei children. Dying gloriously in battle is not a great honor unless Kei children were saved by this. Life is precious. Luna, after all, created the Kei.

The society is formed of the Djirrkei (Priests), the Gadukei (Warriors), and the honored Miyakei (mothers and children). A person belonging to one group is not barred from belonging to others. A Kei who manages to maintain all three roles is greatly honored.

There are two Aeries now, the old Aerie (Mel-Mari) and the new Aerie (Marr-Nalyun). The old Aerie is almost abandoned, though youthful, high-spirited Miyakei sometimes frighten their mothers and go take a look. The old hermit who lives there (and onetime leader of the Kei) usually doesn't take this well.

Inside the Aerie, and in the Outlands, the Kei tend to adopt their Dimoh form. Khiulnter is the usual form for dealing with other Verdimm, or for hunting, though this is up to the individual Kei. Dimo-Khu is almost never used.
