The Ursum tribe, well known for their great strength, is made up of hunters and craftsmen of various types, and are led by their chief and their elders (the Tli'Goh). The most famous of their craftsmen are the Tli'Mak, who are responsible for the shaping of the wood from the tribe's Ironroot trees (so called because the tree's wood is as hard as iron) into useful tools. The Ursum who inhabit the forest tend to live within the Ironroot trees, and in harmony with the Tli'Ra, or tree spirits, who it is said talk to the tribe and shape the insides of the enormous trees they inhabit to suit the Ursum. Other Ursum live in the mountains as hunting and farming villages, along with some ancient tribal sites for meeting.

Intertribal politics do not interest the Ursum, and they are content within their own lands, defending and expanding only as the need arises. Only in extreme circumstances do the Ursum take to war, and then it is to the bitter end.

The Ursum favor their Dimoh form, which is that of very large men and women (there is equality between the sexes in this tribe), and use it both in their homes and when meeting with visitors or other Verdimm.

Their Khiulnter form is mainly kept for hunting or patrolling their lands, and resembles a grizzly bear in most cases, but there is much variation among the tribe members.

Their Dimo-Khu form has not been seen by those not of the tribe in a very long time, perhaps not since the battle against Flectivi. It is thought it is a fearsome man-bear cross, but none are particularly sure.
