AEOLAE
The Aeolae are a proud tribe, who like to think themselves the
most honorable of Verdimm. Though they act honorably, in general,
they have a tendency to kill first and ask questions later. In
form, they are the archetypical wyvern. The Aeolae prefer to
inhabit the higher reaches of the mountainous areas of the west.

ALKARI
The Alkari are a comparatively mild-mannered tribe of Crinos;
they take the form of a moose, and inhabit the plains and the
mountains. Though well-tempered and slow to anger, the Alkari,
when angered, rarely forget an enemy, and hold a grudge until
death -- of themselves, or the enemy.

ALTAICA
The Altaican life is run by two things: their Honor and the
Hunt. Honor being considered the life-blood of the tribe.
To show and receive honor from other Altaican is a celebrated
thing. If one Altaican intentionally dishonors another, both
must duel either to the death or merely until only one is
left standing.

BRUSTICAI
The Brusticai, a nomadic tribe inhabiting the plains, are a
rather violent and ill-tempered lot, fleet of hoof and loud of
mouth, and are feared and respected for their prowess in combat.
Very few of the Brusticai use magic at all, preferring a more
direct and loud approach.

DEICUS
The Deicus are a very territorial tribe, who live in the
foothills of the western mountains, and the southwestern end of
the Sha'dir plain. Feisty and proud, these lions have dwindled in
numbers recently, due to massive amounts of infighting among the
tribe itself.

EKLIIN
The Ekli'in are a tribe of scholarly mystics and archivists,
being one of the few tribes in Crinos to actively keep written
records and history. Perhaps the most peaceful of Verdimm, these
people adopt the form of the herbivore elk, seeking to cause the
least harm to living things. Often preyed upon by other tribes,
they are nomadic, and travel to most of the environments in
Crinos.

HARCOLIN
This plains-dwelling tribe is a race of nomadic traders and
fortune-tellers, serving as the primary merchants of Crinos. The
Harcolin, who take the form of the jackal, are the Crinosian
equivalent to gypsies.

KEI
The Kei are proud, strong, and absolutely honourable
griffin-people, who live in the highest reaches of the western
mountains. Recently, they have taken on the 'burden' of guarding
the mountain shadow-path, and it is they whom outsiders venturing
into Crinos will first encounter.

LEMESECH
The Lemesech, while one of the least overtly aggressive of the
Verdimm, are also some of the most methodical killers, if
crossed. Reptilian in more than just form (they take the form of
the giant python), they are frighteningly patient, calm, and
spiritual. Nearly all Lemesech are expert practicioners of magic,
and few are merely warriors. The tend to keep to their
clearly-marked areas of the jungles but have no qualms about
interacting with others (even outsiders).

MARSWT
The Marswt are amazingly secretive, and wary of outsiders. It's
unlikely that an outsider would encounter any, unless they sought
the Marswt out specifically. Few Verdimm would aid an outsider in
that, though, as the other tribes hold the Marswt in disdain.
It's said that the Marswt have made alliances with the Serpens in
the past.

MERVAIN
The Mervain call themselves "the Beautiful People", and that's an
accurate description. These people, who take the form of the
graceful gazelle, are strikingly beautiful in appearance, even to
the point of seeming frail. Vain and unaggressive, they still
have martial skill, though they treat it as more of an art than a
practice. They're very appreciative of magic, and use it quite
often and well.

MOKH
Then there are the Mokh. Violent, territorial, and solitary,
these are ones you won't want to meet. Surprisingly, in addition
to being strong and valiant warriors, they're also talented
artisians. The Mokh, who take the form of a crocodile, dwell in
the swamps.

RET-TI-SENEK
The Ret-ti-Senek, or rat-ants, are something of a mystery to the
rest of Crinos. The live separately from other Verdimm, and
indeed, they can hardly be considered Verdimm, but they are.
Their race is hive-like, with each Ret-ti-Senek having no sense
of individuality. Feared because of their potential, the Rets are
watched warily, but rarely do they stir from their mounds in the
northeastern plains.

TENEBRAE
Secretive and wary, the Tenebrae are rarely seen, and seem to be
few in number. These panther-folk inhabit the jungles far from
the shadow-paths, and are said to be the undisputed masters of
their territories.

TENETIC
Peaceful, timid, and stoic, the Tenetic are also fierce fighters
when provoked, or called upon for aid -- particularly when
another tribe member is threatened, or even if a Verdimm is
threatened by an outlander. The Tenetic, who take a form similar
to a gargoyle, reside in private places within the mountains.

TERFIN
The Terfin are a tribe given to excesses, and the pure enjoyment
of life in its basest forms. Often gluttonous, sometimes seen as
ravaging, they are nonetheless high-spirited folk who take such a
delight in every part of life, that they rarely care what others
think of them. Taking the form of the boar, the Terfin reside in
the forests and jungles.

UNCIAE
Unciae are a Lost Tribe of Crinos, heard neither from nor of for
thousands of seasons. Their Khiulnter form was that of a snow leopard;
fitting that form, their territory lay high in the mountains. Despite
lack of competition for their land, they vanished long ago. Some say
that the Unciae simply dwindled and died; others, that they moved on
to new hunting grounds; still others, that they were slaughtered by
another tribe or tribes for some unnamed and unnameable
heresy.

URSUM
The Ursum are best known for their great strength, stoicness, and
craftsmanship. Expert craftsmen, they work and live within the
trees of the ironroot forests, taking the form of the bear as
they please. Their forests often extend into mountainous regions,
and they are great practioners of magic as well.

VENATOR
The Venator are often the most visible of the Verdimm, especially
to outlanders. The Venator Village in the northwestern plains has
gained a reputation for being a welcome place for outlanders, and
the Venator have a fairly large amount of trade with the same.
Easygoing but fierce when needed, the Venator are powerfully
loyal, and quite numerous, being one of the chief tribes of
Crinos.

VERACHKA
Unlike many other tribes, the Verachka are not hunters and are
not highly regarded for their group tactics, preferring to act as
indivuals, unless there is a need for a united tribe. Generally
peaceful and good-natured, the Verachka gather what food they
need, and seek to avoid waste and despoilment of the land. They
are highly organized and developed, and the most likely to
embrace new concepts and tools of the tribes of Crinos.
